Installing Struts, Need help ASAP
I attempted to intall my koni's and strano whites today, as expected the rears shocks/springs went smoothly. I got the fronts out without much trouble, but i had trouble geting the rubber strut boot and bolt off off the top of the shock, I'm going to take the new struts and springs to a shop and have everything disassemble and the news assembled.
Here's my question which is probably a stupid one. But once everthing is together, will i be able to turn the bottom of the shock to get the holes lined up with the lower a arm bolt holes. What i'm getting at is once the strut is assembled and i'm putting everything together the bolt holes and studs will go up into the top of the car and obviously the angle of the bolt holes on the bottom of the shock aren't going to be the same as the original strut so will the shock itself turn to line up the holes on the lower a arm or will the spring tenion not allow it to. If so how do i make it too

Yes you will, I just did my springs today, well 3/4 of them anyways lol. But yes, you can turn the strut enough so eveything lines up ok.

I think you might be able to turn it that far, but im sure the mechanic will line up the strut mount to the bottom of the shock like the old one.

Just go here and click on the pic to enlarge, it shows a camaro with the springs installed.

I suggest just removing the struts and taking them to a shop to have everything switched over from your old strut/spring combo to the new. Fighting a cheap spring compressor is a pain in the ass.Pacesetter Headers- ORY
