INSTALLED NEW BRakeS NEED HELP!!!
Hey everyone i just installed my new EBC rotors and HAWK brake pads! It has been forever since the last time i have done this and the first time with this set up. I just drove it after the install and i hear that the brake pads are sort of rubbing against the rotors. Is this normal for new pads and rotors? and are the nw pads just trying to "adjust" to the rotors? And will the sound go away? it does it even louder when i apply the brakes. thanks for the help, Chris

I know this sounds crazy but check the break in directions the sound should go away but if you follow the break in procedure it will be done way faster

He means break the rotors and pads in.
there is a break in procedure for after you chage out the rotors and pads.

There is a break-in period for them. It should have instructions with the rotors but I believe you go up to 30mph and then slow down but not to a stop then up to 50mph same brake procedure a number of times (can't remember off hand).
Then you let them cool off after this break in and they are ready to go. Just check with the info that should be in each box of the rotors.

basically the beading procedure is warm up the brakes... with several quick stops from 30-5 (never to a complete stop). Then do some 50-5, then 70-5 or so... until you can really smell the brake fluid or fade... then drive relax and let them cool down... they'll be better the next time.

never smelled the nice odor of burnt abused brakes... that's the smell of boiling braking fluid...
