    help with bump stop mod

I was told that I would need to do the bump stop mod to my TA before I install my 18x10.5 wheels on the rear of my car. I was wondering if anyone could help me out and explain what I need to do or help find some tech info on this procedure.

    Thanks rich

Removing your bump stops is never a good idea. I put brand new bumpstops on 2 weeks ago. I run 18x10.5 wheels in the rear. I have never understood anyones reasoning for removing the bumpstops honestly.

Removing the bumpstops is not a necessity. I am also running 18x10.5's on my car, and have not removed/modified the bumpstops.

With any wheel wider than 9.5 inches, the inside edge of the wheel will "hang up" on the bumpstop when you jack the car up by the frame and let the rear axle drop down while the wheels are on the car, or if you have the wheels on the car and raise it in the air using a lift.

I was told that I would need larger ones to keep my tires from rubbing the fenders. anyone know about this procedure?

295s and I believe its 56mm. I would just buy new bump stops and call it a day. Your old ones are probably worn down anyways, mine were. There was over an inch difference in the old ones vs. the new ones.

My car only has 16,788 miles. it doesnt look like they have been touched. Im just worried about cutting a tire when I turn into a driveway with a large incline.
