Install was pretty damn easy. I ran into a snag with the pass side front. The top nut that holds on the top of the assembly to the top of the strut was rusted pretty good and it broke free but the nut would only spin with the strut. This rust issue on the pass seems to be common, so difficulty and severity would be determined by how often your car has been driven in the rain.
Took it to pep boys and they hit it with an impact gun and got it off.
It definitely helps to have someone with you to do it but not absolutely necessary. I had my dad help me.
Only special tools are T-40 and T-50 Torx bits and a spring compressor ($39.99) at most auto parts stores. Rent one if you can cause you'll only need it to get the stockers off. All other tools are pretty standard.
I used the guide found at LS1howto.com for the majority of the install.
Yeah, only drove it for about 20 mins today but is bouncy. Im ordering Koni's today. I did notice a bid difference in the center of gravity with the car around turns. Just feels better. Koni's will be a huge improvement over all too.

I cant imagine that kinda anticipation!
I'm going to order mine from Sam Strano because of his sale price till 6/30.
Only thing is that crazy back order!!
I talked to Sam last week and he said Koni cant keep up production compared to the amount of orders coming in.
So I'm going to order them within the week. They probably wont come in till the end of July though

Surprised you did the Hose mod, Last I heard Sam does not reccomend doing it with his Springs.
If you think it's good now wait till the Koni's go on, and don't forget the Adj panhard bar.Craig

Looks good!
Don't forget to remove the rear bump stop spacers.
Also the ends of the rear spring pig tails should be facing forward (GM service manual).Last edited by Blue28; 06-21-2009 at 10:23 PM.

I like the stance much better with the rear hose mod. It evens out the gaps perfectly! Why is this mod frowned upon by sam anyway, is there something wrong with doing it?
