    Getting SFC's installed tomorrow

Well after reading the forum I realized this mod was a must so I decided to get a n early christmas present for myself and get these installed. I'm dropping the car off tonight and they will be installed tomorrow.

I went with the GMS weld-ins in black.

SFCs aren't a glamorous mod, but one of the best things you can do for your car

I'm not too worried about glamorous, just the functionality. How glamrous can a part installed underneath the car be anyway?

    If done correctly, very glamorous

All the SFCs I have ever came across for verts were always bolt-ons. I never did encounter a set of bolt-ons when I had my vert either.

Well I picked up the car last night.

It's a night and day difference. Everything feels more solid and put together. Cornering overall rigidity and it all feels more stable.

    Best mod ever.

BMR fabrications makes a set of tubular weld ins specifically for verts. They are what I used on my previous vert and was always pleased with them.

Im pretty sure most bolt in sfc's can be welded in too. They just have to be bolted in first

im considering getting sfc's but not sure whether to get the bolt on or weld in ones. the weld in ones are cheaper and prob a little more stable when installed, but i have no idea how much it would cost for me to have a mechanic install them.

Just find some shops that weld and are familiar with doing sub frames and get a few quotes. I think I paid someone around $100 to weld mine in. Probably could be found a lot cheaper than that but it was a small local shop that I wanted to give some business to. I would definitely make sure they have experience with doing them and know to load the suspension before welding them.

Mine cost 180 to have installed.

I may have paid a little more but I fully trusted the shop doing the work, they work on alot of f-bodys and even though I know about loading the suspension I played dumb and they explained it all to me without me asking so I had confidence in them.

Please explain what you mean by this. I'm assuming this means the car should be on a lift that you drive up onto so the weight of the car remains on the wheels while they are being welded, versus one that lifts at sub-frame points?

correct, you want the suspension loaded when they're welded on.
