front end help? power steering?
my z28 is leaking power steering fluid. at first i thought tranny but i can see it is at the front of the car. i had a couple friends look at it and they tell me its my rack and pinion. so i go and get prices and they are telling me $400 plus dollars for this part. do you think it would be a good idea to buy a rebuilt one for a 1/4 of the price of a new? or do i need to get a new one? and how hard is it to replace? is it something i can do in the driveway? i have done a lot of things with these car but never put rack and pinion. any feed back will help
thanks
Daniel

First check to see if it is just a hose that is leaking.
You can change out the fluid (colored syn. fluid, etc) to ensure that it is the power steering that is leaking.

That sounds like the best plan (to clean it first)
