Feedback on KYB shocks
Ok so i'm deciding on KYB shocks for the front. I'm getting them from rockauto.com. i not sure if i should get the AGX's or the Gas A just ones. Anyone had or have these? I'm getting new springs for the front from moog. I'm looking to do DD only. No track time. thanks.

I've heard mixed feelings from members about their use on F-body.
Personally I ran them on my tuner car and never had a single issue with them.

which ones did you had smittro? how was the ride? I'm trying to make it alittle more comfortable but not too stiff. you can install these with any spring correct? I'm getting moog's oem height.

Preston always said KYB = Keeps You Bouncing. Other than that, I really don't know much about them. Seems like a lot of people have/had them though. I would think anything aftermarket would be better than the stock DeCarbons.

We used KYB AGX's on this car: 2002 Camaro SS : UMI Performance, Inc.
We found them to be a good combination of capability and cost. Sure, Koni's are premium and Monroe's are inexpensive. These are somewhere in the hgh-middle.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
Just go with the Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs. You will ride 1" lower and have a much better ride. Quality products.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

blistens are out of the budget. I have eibach springs and don't like them. I want to restore the OEM height in the vehicle. Like i said i only do DD. I know the blisteins are great.

WS6store has the BilsteinHD's for 367. That's 52 more expensive than their price for the Gas-A-Just. I have the BilsteinHD's on my stock height 2000 and I'm very happy with the ride/handling balance. I had Gas-A-Just's on my 95 V6 and they were alright, but I prefer the BilsteinHD's.

nevermind I found them. The main thing is I don't want to lower the rear and they don't sell the springs separate. but i will consider them.

I ordered KYB AGX shocks and new insulators. I haven't order the new springs yet. My wife's car needed rear brakes and when I inspect the whole area I can see that all 4 of her vehicle shocks are leaking fluid. So I had to order shocks for her car as well. I have to do her car 1st. I might try to reuse the eibachs or get me a set of OEM springs.

I have a set of OEM springs off my 02 SS. They were removed at 12K miles when I put on the Koni's and Sam Strano springs. Let me know if you're interested.

I have a spring rate question. So i have read that the KYB AGX have these settings to adjust:
1 = 95 (5% softer than Factory)
2 = 100 (Factory damping force)
3 = 107.5 (7.5% firmer than Factory)
4 = 115 (15% firmer than Factory)(GR-2)
5 = 143.5 (43.5% firmer than Factory)
6 = 172 (72% firmer than Factory)
7 = 197.5 (97.5 firmer than Factory)
8 = 223 (123 % firmer than Factory)
My question is will the Eibach fall in these settings compared to stock springs? I don't know the stock spring rating or the eibach rating either. I don't want to spend an extra $100 in oem springs if I can use the Eibachs i got. I have them installed since the car had 60k. The car has 120k now. You guys think the eibach are still good? and Will they work with the AGX?

I have Eibach lowering springs, the non adjustable KYB's with about 9000 miles and gawd awful oklahoma roads and it does not equal a nice ride.
I'm going to upgrade soon to the Koni shocks.Last edited by jrbonds; 06-13-2012 at 05:50 AM.
