    fbody frt bilstein install...?

In this picture, where does this gold color washer go? it does not fit on the shock, it seems to be a tad smaller, could it be the just the paint thickness?

I can't tell from the picture, because it is too small and it doesn't enlarge when you click on it.

Can't say I particularly remember that from when I did my rear shocks though, and they were Bilsteins as well.

I read on LS1tech.com that those just kind of "snap down" on the shock then go together, after a lil nudge with my rubber mallet they snapped fine...the bitch of this job was the rusted nut on the shafts , I had to dremel both of those SOB's off!! Took about 2 hours per side just for that b/s!!! The backs are a piece of cake compared to the fronts...

I believe this gentlemen is correct.

I had the same damn problem with my install. I got the drivers side off with the dremel but the pass side the shock shaft was rusted to the metal ring in the top rubber mount thing(not sure its proper name) so I had to go to the junk yard and get a whole shock/spring assembly, what a pain in the a**.

    Cool

Look at this picture and tell me it looks like two hours of work.....both sides were like this too...but their OFF now Nothing a dremel and a few bits cant handle. The hard part is over now, I am getting a fresh start on putting everything back together and hope to have her back on the street for a nice cruise today.
