    Brake Pedal Feel

This might be a silly question, but here it is: Why is the pedal feel so much different between a 1994 V6 Camaro and a 1993 V8 Firebird? I just moved from the former 1994 Camaro to the 93 bird and I am amazed at the difference in the brakes. I understand the that LT1 is heavier then the 3.4, but the brakes are twice as tough to push, very non-linear feel and much more difficult to modulate. Why is that? Both cars have stock brakes that are only 6months to 1 year old? The camaro's brakes are just so much better...I was under the impression that the hardware would be the same between the cars, except the rear discs on the LT1. This heavier/non-linear feel seems to be common among V8s, considering my experience driving Mustangs and RAM pickups.

Is there anything I can do to help bring back the better pedal feel?

    Many Thanks,
    Steve

Other than stainless lines & fresh fluid & quality pads is about it.
Let me know if you find the secret. I've done all the above & my pedal is still mushy.

Well, as far as I know, the only two things left are the brake booster and the pedal hardware itself. Do you (or anyone) happen to know if the booster is the same between V6s and V8s?

I know that with V6's they have drum brakes on the back that is probably the difference you feel.

But yes a brake fluid flush (replaced with quality fluid) will also feel allot different if the old fluid is bad/done.
