Why are my gears grinding?
Just about every gear shift, it'll grind going in or will grind and not go in at all. In order not to grind, I have to hold the clutch about a second longer. So I can't speed shift. Now the funny thing is, once I go through all the gears several times on the street, and I guess everything is up to temp, the grinding goes away. All fluids are full. Thanks for any help.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Sounds like the cheap cheesy plastic locks on the synchros are shot.

I would say it's more of a clutch problem then a transmission problem if it is happening in all gears.
What kind of clutch and how many miles on it?
Is the hydraulic fluid clean? honey color?

Silver- '02 Trans Am WS-6, 6M
I think you have a hydraulics issue (ie. one of the cylinders), especially with it being all gears. I have a problem with my WS-6 similar to yours. I had a catastropic hydraulics failure that resulted in needing my T-56 rebuilt (under warranty). Even after I had both of the cyclinders replaced, I have pedal travel problems untill the trans and the fluid is warmed up. If I drive when its still cold, I have to force sencond gear and it grinds (so when its cold I just dont use second gear). My favorite thing is that when the mechanics look at it, its been warmed up and they don't experience it, and they say its obviously not enough of an issue to leave overnight. (Sounds like they don't want to mess with it to me, lol.) I also thing CAGS is meesing with mine for some reason (due to it just being second)
All in all, in my opinion, the fluid used for our clutches seems to contract a great deal under 40 degrees (Farenheidt) and make the clutch action almost useless for a time.
