    Where to buy ls7 clutch?

im interested in the ls2 flywheel/ls7 clutch combo especially if its $400+ shipping like it says in the sticky..which one of our sponsors carrys that package?

Also i saw a ram clutch package that came with an adjustable master cylinder and i was wondering if certain aftermarket clutches required an adjustable master cylinder

Fred Beans is/was a sponsor and that is where I got my ls7 kit from. Great product, great price, and it shipped to me in about a day and a half (but I live 45 miles from there lol). A lot of guys buy their kits frm SD, but I just went with a sponsor.

Adjustable master cylinders are only for adjusting release point I believe, and not a requirement when doing a clutch swap (unless you drag race a lot). DEFINATELY do a slave cylinder while you're in there and a rear main seal isn't a bad idea either.

is that the right set up?

and the ls7 set up doesnt require any shimming or anything does it? its just direct bolt on?

didn't click the link, but you need the ls2 flywheel that comes with the kit, but otherwise it's a direct bolt in. MY slave was actually cracked in half!

Price...? I paid $467.xx for the kit, and new rear main seal from Fred Beans, and if memory serves me correctly the kit itself is only about $10 cheaper from SD...?

^+1, you may as well get a new master and slave and do the drill mod while your at it.

From SD I got the clutch kit for 399, I also ordered the master got the slave on ebay and bearing from local gm dealer. Obviously the other things made it more expensive but the kit at 399 + shipping was still under 425. I'am not saying don't buy on ebay but just make sure to figure shipping into either price.

I haven't heard anyone else complain of this problem...how much power are you making?? Were the flywheel and pressure plate cleaned with brake clean before installation?? Did you install a new slave cylinder while you were in there??

It is a stock WS6 Trans Am, so like 320 HP. It was the LS7 clutch and PP, LS2 flywheel, and new LS1 Master and Slave Cylinder. I had it installed instead of doing it myself.

I talked to the installer and he said I might need an adjustable master cylinder.

Like the other said, adjustable master should not be necessary. The clutch/Pressure Plate/flywheel shouldn't be any thicker than the LS1 setup, so there is no reason that the slave should be making contact with the pressure plate fingers when the clutch pedal is fully released.

Sounds like you definitely have something else wrong, I'd drop the trans and make sure the slave isn't getting hung up on the input shaft, and that no fluids (input shaft seal, slave cylinder) have leaked onto the clutch disc.
