What is the diffrence between master/slave cylinder
Trying to figure out what I need to replace and I have had people tell me that its the slave and others its the master. Would like to keep this cheap as possible. Last week sometimes like after a red light it would be really hard to get back in gear and then with the clutch all the way in it would seem like the car wanted to go forward and then the clutch wouldnt come all the way back up and would just stick there. Then last night I went out before i even started the car it had no resistance and stuck right to the floor and it cant be put inot gear. So now it sticks to the floor and cant be put into gear...can anyone help me with a diagnoisis.
Ive searched and some say master some say slave and some say pressure plate but I would like if someone could narrow it down a little...

If your pedal is staying on the floor. It is your master cylinder.

Any parts store should have rebuilt units fairly inexpensive.

Could be the slave or the master. MIne did the same thing and it was the slave. The master is a much easier install though.

do the drill mod when you get the new master, it helps.

Before you buy anything do a proper bleed of the hydraulic reservoir and be sure the fluid is fresh.

to bleed the hydraulic resivour you open the hex nut on the transmission and press the clutch in then close it and repeat over and over right?
