well i took it to some transmission shops and the tranny is fine its the rear end. So i took it differential shop and they say its the ring and pin, plus joints they also said i should change my gears to 3.73

yes...in a sense...its an investment and puts preload on the the rear, but leave the next weakest point vulnerable. Id still go ahead and do it though.

Only happens in 3rd gear, and they think it's the rear end???? In my opinion, i would get a second opinion... It has been my experience that rear end vibrations or noise are present in every gear.

Agreed.. All rear end issuesi have come across are in all gears.. Sounds like tranny issues to me.. Get a second opinion..

I wouldn't waste money on the stock 10bolt. If you do anything to the rear just replace it with a 12bolt or 9". Did you have the drive shaft checked? Maybe that could do it.

well i got the new gears they put in AAM 3.73 the car seems to have a but more pep to it. There is no more whinning in the rear end any more but the vibration in 3rd gear did not go away. Any one think it might be the shifter

I'd have the drive shaft's balance checked. It could be harmonics at certain drive shaft rpm. Try the same speed in 4th and see if it happens.

yeah there is no vibration in any other gear just 3rd and it starts around 40 mph if i am in 3rd it will vibrate i will shift in to fourth or any other gear and it is gone. the car does not shake or any thing just the shifter. I have no idea but maybe it could be the drive shaft i should get it checked out next
