    Transmission mount

I have a 2000 TA M6 and when i step on the accelerator my shifter raises up in the console, you can also feel a little vibration in the car. I believe i have it narrowed down to the transmission mount. I was just wondering where i should get one and what kind? My car is stock as well with 106k on the clock

I went to summitracing.com actually and they have Prothane mounts and other sites have similar mounts but from what i read the prothanes are stronger. I just dont want to get something that will fail again. I need one that can take abuse even if it is just stock power.

if you get the Prothane its going to give you a lot of vibration, the rubber absorbes more of it, hell the stock mount lasted what over 100k miles?

Not sure if its the stock one Ive only had the car for a couple months. And i read that stock seems to wear out cause they cant take abuse. But i also dont want vibration, seems like i should find a rubber one for what i have? I am not planning to get a lot of performance mods either

ws6store has an Enegry Transmission mount that I believe others on this site have used but not sure about the vibration issue with one of those...

Ah we will see. From summit the mount is bout 34 bucks shipped, autozone does not have them. If i wanted a stock one would my only choice be the dealership and any idea on a price?? And thanks for your help

Not bad at all. I honestly noticed very little difference, I have the Energy Suspension poly mount.

It really stiffens it up nicely, nothing like having the shifter jumping side to side or up and down when you're trying to shift!! With the poly mount it is stiff as hell, the trans moves very little regardless of how hard you're running it.

I also installed poly motor mounts when I did my headers, definitely worth it. The vibrations are not very noticeable, doesn't bother me at all in daily driving, highway or city.

i had a 91 z after a 2500 stall and 3.73:1 gears i went through about 5 in 3 months so i made a solid steel mount the vibrations were equivalent to riding a hardtail harley but it never broke again.now the one is broken on my 02 but i wont be going that route yet mine only lasted 60k

Im looking for something that will last but not make the car unbearable to drive because of vibration. Arg tough decision, i doubt I could find a stock rubber one for cheaper than the poly ones. Which also wont last as long. Plus im stock i dont need to fabricate anything crazy

dont buy prothane they are pieces of shit. GET AN ENERGY SUSPENSION MOUNT.......dont use the preload plate, and grind down the 2 humps on the top ( you willl understand when you get it) grind the humps down so they are level with the rest of the mount, then install. you will never have to worry about it again. If you decide you want a stock one let me know. I have a brand new one i got , never used, b/c i went with the ES one instead.
