    What is the best Tranny Fluid for a M6? Car is Street/Strip car.

    Dexron III ATF is what the manual recommends.
    CCW SP 500s 18x10 275/35 18x11 295/35

    Save your $ and get a quality DexIII -spec. ATF. If you must go synthetic go with Mobil 1 AFT. You will need to buy 4 qts.

    Why do I always hear its best to use conventional in a automatic? wOULD THE BANDS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT?opps caps lock.

    Well, this is a manual forum and that where the answers were directed. But, the reasom autos stick with non-synthetics( ATFs) is the type of friction marerials used( yes, the bands are included here) synthetics attack the glue that bonds all the little paper bits together. This is also why its not a great idea to put synthetics in a T56. Many T56s were built with similar paper-based linings on the synchronizer blocker rings.
