    Throw out bearing question

Hey guys I am about to buy a spec clutch without the throw out bearing. Are all throw out bearings the same, could I go to Autozone and get one, or do I need a spec one? Thanks for the help.

throw out bearings are the same. If you wanna replace it, consider just buying a new GM slave cylinder. It comes with a throwout bearing and you might as well replace it while your in there or it might haunt you down the road (ie leak or fail otherwise).

I think my slave cylinder is what failed and caused my clutch to go out. I have a GTO, so I can buy an Fbody slave and mod it to work right? Are there different slaves, or are they all the same? (one being stronger than the other, my car is not stock)

    Thanks for the help!

Cutlass - are you saying that if I change my slave cylinder I have already change the throw out bearing? I'm asking this because I did this last summer and hopefully this weekend I'm ordering my new clutch kit. I need to know so I can get all the parts together prior to dropping the trans.
