TCS OFF light flash

So I was driving today with the TCS off and I floored it, shifted into second, and I swear the "TCS OFF" light blinked on and off a few times. Is it just me or do some people get this?

Also, on occasions when I shift hard, I get a hard hitting sound from the rear-ish area. Is this the traction control kicking in when its not supposed to be? (I always drive with the traction control off, to make things clear ) Ive never driven another manual f-body, but Ive driven plenty of other manuals and I never have this hard hitting sound.

My trac off light doesn't flash or flicker and it shouldn't be doing that.
The clunk could be broken or worn out trans or torque arm mounts.
