T56 swap question
I have a question, I have been thinking about swapping in a T56 into my a4 Trans Am and I found one from a viper cheap. Anyway I could bolt that on or some way to modify it to work, like an adapter or something? I am thinking definitely not since they are two completely different cars. For some reason I can find viper t56s for under 1k but everyone wants 1500-2000 for camaro/firebird t56s.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
I would think the Viper trans would be more expensive since there are fewer of them.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

I know that is what you would think but that is not what I have found. Maybe I just found a good deal but the viper trans I found is a good $700 cheaper.

Okay I thought that would be the case but just wanted to make sure before I totally dismissed it. I wish I could find a t56 for under $1k in the northern va area or on ebay but it seems they all want an arm and a leg for them. It really doesn't matter if it totally works to me since I plan on rebuilding it anyways.

Another question, I found a t56 from a CTS-V and I was wondering if anyone knew if that would fit. It looks the same as the f-body 6 speeds.

nope gotta change the tail /shifter and they use a flange not a slip yoke. the gearing is better but 5 and 6th are also going to be lower... if it was me i would use the 5/6 from a fbody and a tail from a f body and have a nice trans
