Stuck then unstuck?
This morning my '01 TA decided it would not go into any gear. Moved side to side stiffly but would not engage. I finally managed to get it in reverse after stopping the engine but only with difficulty. I though it might improve after I moved it but it did not and I had to stop the engine again to get it into 1st and back in the drive. This afternoon all was forgiven and it worked fine again. Any ideas??? Stock Hurst and usually works great.
The problem reappeared this afternoon. Determined that the clutch will not disengage. It will go into gear with the engine off. After moving the car it started working properly again. Will post further findings.Last edited by Glenn; 11-11-2006 at 01:00 PM. Reason: update

Onyx Black- '02 Camaro SS(replica) M6
I am guessing ...
shifter problem or...
no gear oil or...
clutch problem...
but i would bet on one of the last 2 choices

Solution?
Well, after quite a while with few problems, it finally locked up real good. The clutch was not releasing. The clutch felt like it was working properly and my partner in crime thought perhaps the clutch was coming apart and some hunks had jambed things or the slave cylinder was bent. Had several ideas but we decided a look see was the only way to go. He has that fancy bleeder, needed cause the idiots loop the line over the bellhousing making it really hard to bleed. So he bled the clutch and at this point, it seems to have taken care of the problem.
(no, I couldn't figure out how to re-edit the original)
