Stiff clutch
Has anyone experienced this:
I've been doing a lot of road miles this past year--Wichita to Denver every 2 weeks. I've noticed something a little odd. Normally I just put the cruise a few miles over the limit and cruise on down the road. After 3-4 hours, the clutch gets stiff--requires a lot more effort to push it in. At the end of the drive (7+ hours), it's still pretty stiff. Next morning, next few times I shift, the clutch is still stiff, but then it eases up and feels normal--until the next time I drive for several hours.
No other problems, no odd noises, shifting is fine.
Any ideas, suggestions?
Thanks!

its probably normal wear, the stock clutches are not that reliable, especially when under any heavy stress. once it starts slipping or engaging correctly i'd get it replaced. i would go with a luk gold clutch and flywheel. its the best cluch out there IMO. or the z06 clutch is pretty good.

Been thinking about going Z06 when it's time.
Not slipping yet
Been doing this for about 10000 miles
It's just annoying, and I'm worried it's something serious.
I'm hoping to put it off for a while, and replace the clutch when I replace other things with even more fun things.....

cool, the z06 clutch is a good choice, but look into the luk gold clutch. it may be somewhat high priced but its worth every penny! its the smoothest clutch ive ever had you can let it out slowly, without any throttle whatsoever and she would start rollin and not try to stall... the stocker would never do that! thats just my 2cents

actually i could take off in 1st just letting the clutch out slow with my stock one. now i have the z06 one and its much much easier to chirp 2nd now.

really? when i had the stock clutch i had to give it throttle and feather it, i guess mine was f-ed up or just the operator. my friends 99 t/a was the same. all these cars act different i guess

Okay....They both sound pretty good....
How are they both (Z06 & Luk Gold) at handling power?

Yeah I'm able to let out the clutch in 1st and get the car moving without any throttle applied.
