Spec Stage 1 Clutch question PLEASE HELP!!!
I have a question about the Spec stage 1 clutch. About 2 weeks ago i replace my stock clutch w/ the stage 1 and after install it slips under load when the car is first started. After the clutch is warmed up it gets better and dont slip. But is this a normal thing for spec or is there something else wrong. It only has 350 miles on it. Will this go away after the clutch is broken in. And also when i put it in reverse it makes this funny whinney noise from the clutch and then when i put it into 1st it makes that same noise and then you can smell the clutch like its being fried. Any feedback would help greatly. Thanks a million!!!!!!!!

Did you replace the slave along with it? Did you resurface the stock flywheel and if so, did you shim the slave?

I hope you used the shim that it cam with. I hope that you resurfaced the stock flywheel and updated to a 01-02 master and slave cylinder. There is also a 500 mile break in period on a new clutch. Do you have any major mods or are you basically stock? Any of the 3 above statements could be your problem. I hope between this will help!

Yes, i replaced the slave cylinder with a stock 2000 ta salve cylinder, resurfaced the flywheel, and it's basically stock other than LT headers. Could it maybe the clutch needs blead a more??

Call Paul at SPEC and discuss your problem with him. With only 350 miles on that clutch it should not be slipping (anytime). I suspect you have a bad pressure plate. Next time do yourself a favor and get an LS7 clutch kit.
