Spec clutch shudder

Just installed spec stage 2, billet flywheel,slave cylinder, ive put over 600 miles on it and it still will rattle your brains out at low rpm take off- Is this normal for spec - If so , wont purchase another one

dunno what stage my spec is..was installed back in 01 ....def still chatters with 20k on the car though...and it may be the cause of a good thud noise when i shift from 1st to 2nd.......dont buy spec again.........ive heard the 3plus is good though...but im staying away with my next clutch

Last summer I bought an '01 Corvette with 17K miles. It has a 408 making 458 RWHP. It came with a Spec 2 clutch that shuddered really bad for a few thousand miles until it started slipping really bad. I'm not considering another Spec. I'm most likely going with the '06 Z06 clutch (partially thanks to threads on this page).

My Spec stage 2 assembly was warped and out of balance (badly).
It did chatter like hell, after the magic 500 miles too... When I called them the seller told me he knew it was a POS, but because of his boss he officially had to tell me "its fore sure an installation issue".

I have the Spec 3+ and I love it. It doesn't chatter or shudder at all. It is just about as smooth as the stocker. Also I would like to note that the clutch is not too violent. It is not one of those on/off clutches. It can be slipped. I can definitely say come clutch time I will be getting another spec.

BTW the clutch only has like 7000 miles on it.

i put a spec stage 2+ in my 2000 Z a couple thousand miles ago. it shuddered like all hell when i first got her in. it calmed down after about 500 miles. i like it now, grabs as tight as a virgin in a donkey show.
