Shearing Fluid
ok so long story short my slave cylinder blew up so i had to pull the trans...when i pulled the plug and drained all the fluid it came out a brownish maroon and burnt smelling...Engagement is awesome. and syncros are exceptional...I rebuilt the trans about 10k mi ago...replaced with Dexron III and a lil limited slip additive...used the additive because when i rebuilt the trans i used viper gears, syncros, billet steel strut keys, and kevlar blocker rings...for the color texture and odor that transmission had to be at a minimum of 240-250 degrees to start burning the fluid like it is... has anyone ever heard of running an external pump and a trans cooler on their 6 speed...today when i put it back together i refilled with Mobil 1 Synthetic...really dont want to be payin a case of this crap every couple months cause im shearing the ATF...anyone have a sugestion?...or a thought on why my trans is getting so hot...clutch is an LS6...could a dragging clutch do to a malfunctioning slave cylinder cause the trans to over heat...?
