replace 1995 t56 into a 1998 t56
I have a 98 z28, and have purchased a t56 from a 1995 Trans Am to replace my t56. I have lost 6th gear, and am loosing reverse, so the 1995 T56 was cheaper than a rebuild with new gears, and a rebuild kit. The 1995 T56 has 60k miles on it. My 98 has 111k miles. I also got a 4.10 gear set for my rear end, but will be taking that to a shop for installation.
My question is, will I run into any trouble with fitting a 1995 t56 to my 1998 LS1 engine? Will I need to change out the bellhousing?

You would definitely need to change the bellhousing, because the LT1 T56 uses a fork style clutch setup, whereas the LS1 uses an internal slave cylinder.
I also believe the input shaft lengths are different (due to the different clutch designs), so the trans probably won't work with the LS1 bellhousing. You'll have to do some more research on that though.

You will also have to swap the front adapters because the LT1s use an external slave with a fork set up and you will need the concentric slave for your LS1.
