    PRO 5.0 Shifter (several ?'s)

    is there anything i need to no about this shifter before i install it... anything any of you guys noticed that will help me... i see alot of threads praising these shifters i just need to no if theres any secrets to the install and/or setup, or even if you can adjust these shifters, or need to?....

    my car with the stock shifter takes for ever to go into reverse i have to push towards reverse once, ease off and push into reverse again to get it to go... will this shifter solve that problem?? i also have this problem when im haulin ass on the expressway and go to hit 5th, the block off that normaly stops you form hittin reverse at lower speeds seems to disappear and sometimes i graze reverse!! will the pro 5.0 make it harder for me to do this or inable it all together hopefully???

    I just installed mine this past weekend. I love this thing! Why didn't I do this earlier?

Reverse should be electronically locked out. This is something a shifter wont solve. If Reverse is 'blocked' (from your other question) and you need to fiddle with it to go into reverse, then Id say the shifter wont help with that either.

    well id have to say the electrical lock out goes away at speeds over a hundred case thats the only time i buzz reverse..... we will no tomarrow if the shifter solves my going into reverse problem (from a dead stop), for i will have my 5.0 shifter ses the ups tracking number.... thanks guys

    DONT CUT THE #6 BOOT LIKE PRO 5.0 instructions says to, unless you want 20% more tranny noise!!! just leave it the way it was on the stick!

    Trust me you will regret it. They say its restrictive--mebbe on a 100% track car i guess.

    dude the install is very simple, i can change one in like 30 mins and have it all back together, your reverse synchro is prolly going out, that is what my guess would be for you reverse problem

    THIS SHIFTER IS WORTH EVERY BIT OF THE 165 SHIPPED I PAID FOR IT.... HOW DID I EVER DRIVE MY CAR BEFORE YESTERDAY!!!!!!

    seriously... the sturdy feeling while shifting is amazing.....

    all hail pro 5.0!!!


    thanks for the tips i dint cut the boot liek you suggested and i think your a fuckin genious for not cuttin yours and perhaps starting a trend...i think havin that boot tight on the shaft (insert joke here) cuts down on vibrations as well as the obvious noise... i notice way less tranny noise now with this shifter...

    im still having a problem pushing past 3 and hittin the 3-5 splitter.... im trying soo hard to force 3rd and get back in the gas ... guy i work with kicked my ass after work last week when i missed 3rd(stock shifter).. and hes got a bone ass stock 2000 z28 auto and he never even pulled it outa O/D.. arrrrhgg.. once i get used to this new shifter.. redemption is mine....

    i just cant get my self to push out of 2 let it fall to the middle then jsut push up im used to older 5 speeds where you have to come outa 2nd and move it slightly more to the right and then up...

    think i jsut need more time in this car goin like hell!!!

    John Deere LS1, did you by chance use some rubberized paper gasket on the base of the shifter?

    almsot none existant... im amazed to see how shitty the stock shifters are now that ive drove almsot 100 miles with my pro 5.0... y doesnt gm contract pro 5.0 so the cts-v's and corvettes come stock with these?!?!!?

    i dotnt hink mine was a hurst to begin with my cars not a ws6.... i got mine off ebay.. 165 free shipping the guy thats located in fort brag maryland.... i live in michigan and ordered it on a monday morning and had it wensday and installed.... hes a good ebayer... i dunno about a b & m ripper but i doubt ill try anythgin after loving thsi pro 5.0!!
