OKAY...slave or master??

I have a 2000 z-28 and need to know where the restriction is! I don't know if it is in the master or the slave... My slave is leaking and I need to know if I can just replace the slave off of an 02 and get the master cyl at a later time... I have no money for this right now...

I believe the answer is neither. The restriction should be in the hydraulic line near the master cylinder.

okay... thanks... now, I got the price of a 00-02 slave from chevy that is 170. I can get a napa one for 90 bucks ... that's one off of a 2000, but when I told them to look for a '02, they said they didn't have a part # for it??? I also need a good place to find just a clutch/pressure plate? Everywhere I look they are selling a whole package with a flywheel! I don't need one!

Definitely upgrade your Hydraulics to a 01 or 02 slave and master.

Yes you can replace the master later, I just replaced the slave cylinder on my 01 z28 m6. My slave cylinder exploded and leaked everywhere.

The restriction ??, the answer is the same as posted above, just do the drill mod!!

To answer your question about the clutch, you should upgrade to the 01/02 clutch also, its the same clutch used in the ZO6.

But if you are making tons of HP and have lots of mods, then go with a better clutch like Ram or Mcleod, exedy (more expensive then ram)

If your not modded just stick with the ZO6 clutch, if I remember right, all OEM ZO6 clutchs come with a new flywhee but at GM dealer you should beable to choose if you need it or not!

The Ram clutch you can get without the flywheel, they are built a little stronger and priced just a slight bit more!

I just bought a slave from GM and ordered a centerforce 1 clutch disk and PP for 350$. They have the car at chevy now so maybe I can persuade them to give me the line going into the slave for doing the mod... I guess they are putting the 01-02 slave into ALL of the cars that come in for that reason. I hope that the centerforce clutch is okay... I seem to do fine with stock clutches, and CF claims that there clutches have 30% more than stock. All I have on the car now is the free ram air and a magnaflo y-pipe back. I don't really get on it out of the hole that much either, so I hope i'll be fine! I'm freakin poor right now.

the centerforce clutch will do fine!!!!
It also gives a better clutch feel then spec!

great... thanks for the ray of hope! I just wanna drive the stupid thing you know... row through the 6 speed without any fears and watch the hondas fade away!
