New Master: GM or other?
Ok fellas, I'm gonna change my hydraulics. Tired of not being able to shift to third at high rpm's, lol. Has anyone had any insight on replacement master cylinders from advanced or o'reilly's? Or should I go with the GM OEM? I thought about doin an adjustable, but heard it's not really worth it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Hard to find a OEM equipment except for GM parts direct and a couple I found on E-bay.

Summit Racing sells a Dorman for $100 on its website. Also a slave for $125.
Usual disclaimer--not connected with Summit or Dorman in any way.

I bought an adjustable from kyspeed.com. It was a pain getting it installed because of that wire loom. After that I haven't really had any issues with it. I'm taking it easy though because I replaced pretty much everything inside the bell housing.

Can't be any harder than doing headers or spark plugs. I hope not anyways.

Its a pretty big PITA. You have to go by feel, you can't actually see where the master cylinder goes in due to the brake booster and master cylinder being in the way. Getting it out isn't bad, its getting it back in and getting the u-bolt lined up with the holes in the firewall thats a huge pain.

did you change the master AND slave?? if you didn't change the slave you didn't change all the hydraulics. good luck with the slave though... on my saturn its a 10 minute job to change all the hydraulics... to get to the slave on this car I believe you need to remove the trans from the engine....

Could possibly help with the drill mod. I opted against doin this because my car originally was fine. With new hydraulics, I'd expect it to return to the original state. May pull it and attempt it. Could practice on the old one...

did the drill mod on mine when I swapped the clutch, it worked ok, but when I tried shifting on the spray, could not get into gears, like hitting a brick wall, I purchased the Tick unit. Yeah it was expensive, but honestly it was the best money I ever spent on the car.

+ one for DRILL MOD i did the drill mod and made my oem master in to an adjustable one by taking it apart and cuting the internal bumpstop in hale and making cutting the rod and making a selve and putting a bolt in it making it adjustable zero issues since

Hmmm. Looks like I may have to pull her back out to do it. No reason to put my cam in before I get this corrected. Wouldn't be able to use the extra power. Hopefully the drill mod will cure the situation.

New Master GM or other
Nice price. I paid 199 for mine, then 79 for a new battery/motor 2 years later. But now, after about 5 years? its still going great, even tho the case has faded
