Unless you go to the track a lot I would not go over the 3.73 . You can still get decent mileage with 3.73 and get good pickup. One thing also with 4.10 is you better have the ability to adjust your suspension. Depending on your mods I have heard many say they went to 4.10's and can't get traction. Just my 2 cents.

im in the same boat as you, i have a 99 z28.. i've been reading up, and i would suggest you get 3.73s- they save gas, you probably have 245 tires and won't get that much traction anyway (like me), and the 4.10s put a lot more stress on your rear... i've read our rears arent that strong. Any other inputs are appreciated since i might be buying new gears too

    for drag racing, use 4.40s.
for the street and drivability then use 3.73s.

I'm in the same boat as you are.....deciding between 3.73, 3.90 or 4.10 for my 2002 M6 Camaro SS. I'm leaning towards SLP 3.73s....from others I hear they are quiet, offer a noticeable performance increase and don't have a terrible effect on gas mileage.

honestly, I went from a 3.42 to a 4.10, and could feel just a small performance increase. You should have a 3.42 already, so going from a 3.42 to a 3.73 to me seems like a waste, considering the high cost of doing so, from my past experience.

Alright thanks for the input. Think i'll pry go with the 3.73s because my car don't see the track alot. Besides I been hearing 4.10s dont hook up unless you got good suspension, which I haven't got to yet.

3.42s are plenty for somone that dosnt go to the track often..our cars have tourqe across the board..whats the performance increase even from 410s???? 2 or 3 tenths at the track???? put some headers on instead ..keep the gas mileage and driveability and still gain those 2 or 3 tenths

    I'd save the money for a 12-bolt or 9-inch...

I couldn't decide between 3.73s and 4.10s, so I went with a Motive 3.90. My car is a daily driver and I wanted something to add a little more punch for playing around on the streets (already taken care of the headers, intake, exhaust, tune, etc.). I heard that Motive makes a quality gear and they don't whine a lot like the Richmond's.
