Exedy Clutches are by far the best, but are very expensive starting at around 1G. If you car is mild you know basicly stiock maybe some bolt ons. the 02 Z06 clutch works well, and is very easy to drive with. The 02 Z06 clutch is available from Pace Performance for about $400 with flywheel, they also offer a very nice hydraulic throw out bearing as well for about $90

How much do shops usually charge to install these? Or would a noobie like myself be able to just install?

i didnt like my spec 3. it chattered like hell! I swapped that out for the ram powergrip hd. its stiff, but i love it. if you're just looking for a replacement clutch, id look at the ls7/ls2 combo. Its a bit stiffer than stock, but stronger than the ls6 clutch. Fred Beans has it pretty cheap too. Im also running the Ram adjustable master, but i believe the ls7 is self-adjusting.
