    LS! to Muncie 4 Speed

Is it possible to mate an 01 LS1 to a Muncie with a S/B bell housing and Z- bar peddle?

    Thanks,

Just curious, but why would you want to do this? Retro-fitting an older car?

I am putting a 71 together from a bare shell, needless to say the console replacement and transmission rebuild were pricey. If I can still use both with a gen III up front, monies could be directed to other areas (dash, RS conversion, ect.) The only benefit of the Muncie is it fits the console. Pace lists a bellhousing for gen III to older trans for under $300.00. Basically, I am trying figure out the best bang for the buck.

    Thanks

With the correct bellhousing and clutch for the Muncie input shaft, I really don't see why it wouldn't work. The LS1 uses the same bellhousing bolt pattern on the back of the transmission as a traditional small block Chevy, so the old style bellhousing should bolt right up to it.
