Looking for a shifter
hey guys I just got a '00 WS6 6M with 40k on it this past weekend and drove it from FL to NJ. It has the standard shifter in it. I've searched through the archives for some information but it seems I'm looking for something a little unique.
I like the long stick my shifter currently has and the long throw. I know I'm weird but I like the feel of a '60s musclecar trans.
I don't like the sloppiness of my current shifter. I would like to find a shifter that will offer more clickyness from gear to gear and wouldn't be against a slightly less throw if it will give me more of a quality feel from the trans. Can you guys help me out?
BTW im changing the diff and trans fluid next week.

Had the stock one, bought a Hurst and did not like it at all. Went with a Pro 5.0 in my 1998 SS, then went with the Pro 5.0 in my 2002 Z/28.
Hands down go with the Pro 5.0
The only way you will know what you like is to find a buddy who has one or the other and see what your preference is. Go Pro 5.0 IMO!!!

i have the factory hurst on my 99 z28, its much better than the factory one that originally came with the car, switching from non hurst factory shifter to hurst factory shifter made a huge difference! and i just put a ws6store short stick on today! feels awesome!

Personally I reccommend the Pro 5.0, I have one on my car and I love it.
However, if you are interested in a Hurst, I have a factory Hurst shifter for sale for a very reasonable price, just PM me if you're interested.

does the pro 5.0 give a really short shift and a short stick? The flick of the wrist kind of shifts isn't my taste, I prefer a longer throw.

the Pro 5.0 has a shorter shift throw than the Hurst does that I have. if you combine that w/a short stick like many do, it's literally a 'flick of the wrist'...

With the stick that comes with the Pro 5.0, its a much shorter throw than the stock shifter, but its by no means "flick of the wrist". Its slightly shorter than stock, but its still got that tall muscle car feel to it.
I got a WS6 Short stick for my Pro 5.0, just because I prefer the shorter stick handle.
