Talking Just ordered a Pro 5.0 w/ Lou's short stick

$225 (shipping included) ordered from afterthoughts. I hope it is fairly easy to install!

I can't wait to see the difference in shifting.

Anyone with any feedback from this set up, please feel free to share your story with me.

I installed my Pro 5.0 with LSS about a month ago and I absolutely LOVE it. It may take you a day or two to get comfortable with the new shift pattern, however the shifts are very positive and the throws are nice and short. I actually like the 2-3 shift better than the 1-2 shift with that setup.

My WS6 has the upgraded Hurst shifter from the factory. How much of a difference would/does that aftermarket shifter make; that one you guys are yaking about? I would think that being a Hurst brand shifter, that would have been an excellent choice and good enough.

I had the hurst as well and the Pro 5.0 is much better. A lot more positive feel, you will not miss the 2-3 shift and just feels more "sturdy".

The Hurst you have in your car is a P.O.S. Mine broke after 140,000 miles. I sent it to Hurst and they sent me a Billit Plus for free!
It in no way compares to the Hurst Billit Plus which is an awesome shifter, but so is the Pro 5.0

I've always heard good things about the Pro 5.0. Felt good in my buddy's 98 Cobra, so before too long I will be getting one for the bird.

Huge difference. I had the stock Hurst when I got my car, upgraded to the Pro 5.0, night and day difference. No more missing 3rd and ending up in 5th by accident.

Well, it sounds like something worth looking into. I haven't had my T/A for very long and presently, I don't know of anyone (personally) who is an owner of one either. Life expectancy of motorized vehicles here in Michigan doesn't compare to the southern states.

I've had issues hitting certain gears and if the Pro 5.0 is the cure, in the future I believe I may be the proud owner of one as well.

I recently bought one of those 'Skip Shift Kits' because of that annoying 1st to 2nd skip. I hate the skip! Hopefully this device completely cures that as well, but I won't get a chance to find out until spring.

I second that about Michigan!!!!! Gotta love midwest winters mixed with the lake effect on every side of the damn state!!!!!

I just got my pro 5.0 from my fiance for christmas. Yet to install it, I was waiting for decent weather! I've heard nothing but good things!

Yea I had the hurst short throw in my SS, I got the pro 5.0 for xmas and the install was a peice of cake. Just make sure you seal it correctly. The only downfall about the pro 5.0 is that it tends to vibrate a little. There is a little more cabin noise compared tot he hurst because the hurst was insolated so it made it a little more sound proof. You can fix the vibrations by using rubber washers or somthing like that. All in all the pro 5.0 was a great mod, the shifts are a lot more crisp now. Good luck with it

I still haven't installed it. I will try to get to it this weekend. Not a huge, rush, I just want it in there before I start driving it daily again.

jrc1122, did you do the install yet?

I'm going to bite the bullet and buy one. I've done a fair amount of investigating and it definitely looks like the way to go; hands down. (My age is starting to show! lmao!)

Here's a link I discovered that goes through the install process. I'm not sure if it's helpful or not, not until I get the Pro 5.0 in hand.
