Jumps out of third
While I had my car in the shop for the rear end my m6 tranny has started jumping out of 3rd gear. while it was still under warranty I am having it fixed. The mechanic said he thought it was the third gear synchronizer. WHat do ya'll think??????????????

It's one of the following:
Synchronizer damaged or excessively worn.
Blocking ring damaged, worn index slots or friction surfaces worn or damaged.
Excessive countershaft end play.
Shifting fork loose on shift rail, worn or damaged fork or fork pads.

The aluminum 3/4 fork in ALL Fcar T56s is crap. You will need an iron/ upgrade part and perhaps syncro parts if you let it go too long.Do NOT let the dealer/ repair shop put an aluminum 3/4 fork back in. The iron part is available in the GM system.

I have heard that about the 3/4 fork. My buddy has tore out 3 of them before someone told him about the new fork. Thanks for the info.

The 3/4 shift fork is bent, get a steel one. It's a Viper part.
