Interchangeability (take two)
Sorry to do another one: I figure LS1 F-car T56's interchange. What about trannys from LT1 cars, and GTO trannys?

i dont know what trannies came with the lt1 cars so i cant help there, but the gto's use the same trannies as f-bodies.

I know they had T56's (at least in F-bodies), but not if they'll swap.

if they had a t56 i would expect it to swap. its the same tranny still.

1999 Formula WS6 M6-sold- 2001 Silverado Z71
LT1 bellhousing, input shaft, and clutch actuation is different. LT1s use an external slave and a clutch fork.
GTOs, CTS-Vs are simular to F-bodies except they don't have a torque arm or a slip yoke (CTS-V) where the driveshaft meets the transmission.Last edited by Cutlass; 11-12-2009 at 06:25 PM.
