Yellow- 2000 LS1 Trans Am
I think its transmission problems now....
Hey guys im sorry for this long thread and i hope you all can understand it. Im new to this site but i have been on here before looking at threads to help me fix my car. I have a 2000 ls1 Trans am. I have recently put another ls1 moter into the car about 6 months ago. It has a new cam, rockers, and springs in it. I still have the stock transmission in it tho that has over 212,000 miles on it. I did an clutch swap like about 4 months ago and it has been running fine until about a week ago. I mean the clutch still feels fine, it goes in gear perfectly. The only thing is that if i really get on it out of first gear. Around like 3500 rpm i will feel and hear this noise coming from the shift knob area. If i let off the throttle the noise stops and if i stay on the throttle it will still make the noise and then it would stop around 5000 rpm. Then i shift into second around 6000 rpm then it just does the same thing all over again. Once i get to third gear it stops doing it all together and runs normally. Do you guys think its time for a tranny rebuild or is this coming from the clutch area????? Please help me out!!!!!

Can you describe the noise or post a vid? Any chance your torque arm mount is the issue?
