    High Performance Clutch Upgrade Needed

right now, I'm completely stock. I feel my clutch slipping when I'm hit 3rd from 6th on the highway.

basically next year I plan to get on 400hp to the wheels. what clutch do you recommend if my ultimate goal is between 600-700rwhp?

I've been looking at spec, ram, and the ls7 clutches.

As far as I'm concerned the only thing worse then a Spec clutch is Spec customer service. I had an early stage 3 Kevlar fall apart with under 2000 miles on it.

Since then I've run a Ram that held up very nicely to quite a bit of abuse. 6.5K clutch dumps on slicks and 6300 power shifts I've got another Ram ready to go in when I rebuild my tranny.

I'm using centerforce clutches on all my sticks...I use Hays clutch discs. I try to find the biggest damm one I can fit in the housing...(yes this means more moving mass),but that's my preference. I'm sure technolgy has changed some, but I had a bad experince with a multi disc set up so i stay away from them...

I'm happy with the McLeod. Given the choices you have i would say Ram.

The LS7 clutch is good and its a fair price compared to others. although they are designed for around 500HP. you may be able to push 550HP.

if cost is not an issue than get something better.

I also say Mcleod. I used the Rev Lok in my WS.6 and it was awesome. It was hard on drivetrain parts though

Had the Spec and now im running the Ram Powergrip HD. I'll throw the Ram in again before I even think about another Spec clutch.

Here in Tennessee I've been hearing lots of bad things about spec lately. I hear they don't hold up at all. The main ones I'm looking at are McCleod, Ram, and centerforce. What do you guys think about these?

    What about Exedy hyper clutch?

Japs use them to handle 1000s of hp and they dont slip that much...
