    help with clutch

Ok i just got a 99 WS6 thats a manual, the rear main is dumping oil out like crazy so i am going to fix it this week.

My question is what is the most popular clutch to put into this car as far as the zo6 clutch line up goes or is there something better.

If i understand right from reading others the best kit would be
    http://www.sdparts.com/product/SDLS7...cFlywheel.aspx

along with the slave and pilot bearing?

as far as the 2 above can those just stay stock or do they need to be upgraded?

they can stay stock, but might as well change them out while you got the tranny out instead of having to pull it out again and replace those parts when they fail

Make sure it's not your oil sending unit (on back of block, driver side) and if it is your rear main, make sure when you take off the tranny, you look at the plug in the back of the crank. Mine was cocked sideways, and oil was leaking all over the clutch.

I bought the Ls7 kit from Fred Beans and it comes with Ls2/Ls7 flywheel (will not fit stock ls1 flywheel!), pressure plate, disk, and pilot bearing. I also got the GM ls1 slave with throwout bearing (you might wanna upgrade to ls1 slave since the hydraulics are better then the stock 99'). I got the slave from ws6store cause it was $100 bucks cheaper than GM for the same part.

I love it personally!!! It holds great, and after I let it break in, I just had to do a burnout haha. Stock rear, stock gears, and easily through 3 gears...NICE!!!

P.S. If you're doing it yourself, make sure you get an allignment tool.

thank you for all the input, i ended up buying the ls7 kit, new slave, align tool, pilot and master from sdpc, mainly everything on the web page for the ls7 kit.

Ended up it was the rear engine cover that was leaking badly, im glad i did this now cause once i had everything out i found that the pilot was completely worn out.

it was right around 700.00 for everything plus shipping (ls7 clutch, pressure plate, ls2 flywheel, master cylinder, slave cylinder, pilot bearing and align tool)

I just checked the price and for some reason the ls7 kit just went up to $424.95 and it was only 399.99 when i ordered it.
