Grinding into 2nd at high rpm
So, I'm at the point where I think my trans may need some parts.
The last 5 or 6 times I have tried to do a hard pull through 1st into 2nd, I get a grind and the transmission will not go into 2nd. I always have to back off the throttle and then ease into gear. Just tooling around at normal speeds it shifts fine; you'd never know.
Synchros? I'm thinking that if the trans has to come out, I will do a stage one build with the bronze shift pads and steel 3-4 fork, etc.
Any thoughts?
Power wise, I see myself maybe adding headers some time in the future, which I suspect would take me to right around 400 whp. Already have the LS7 clutch.
I'm currently putting 360ish to the wheels. At these power levels, am I good with a basic upgrade, or should I be thinking bigger?

Yes you're good even with that pwr output.
Sounds like syncros but could be a bent fork.
To be honest I would only send to Tick for a rebuild. For me, every local shop wants twice as much for a rebuild over tick and that's just getting stock parts. A Tick stg 2 runs about $1600.

It doesn't do it at WOT going from 2nd to 3rd?
Sent from my SM-G900V using TapatalkBoost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

I just researched Tick. I'm thinking the same. Just need a shop to do the R&R for me.
Interestingly, no, it doesn't even though 3rd gear has always been my transmission's bastard child. The last 10 or so times I've tried WOT into 2nd, it grinds without fail. I tried a couple of WOT into 3rd (harder, because speed limits) and it went in fine.Lid, Throttle Body, LS6 Intake, Heads, Cam, Magnaflow, LS7 Clutch, SFCs, STB, Panhard Bar, Strano Springs, Hollow Sway Bars, Poly/Roto LCAs, Konis, MGW Shifter
