    Grinding going into Second gear

I have 99 TA with a T-56 six speed, I removed the trans and replaced all the blocker rings, the broken keys, and fork pads. This fixed all the other problems except second gear. HELP!!!! Second is better (would not even go in before)

Does it go into 2nd easier if you double-clutch? Did your synchros look okay? Did you replace your pilot bearing while you were in there? Are any other gears difficult to get into or just 2nd?

I replaced the syncros and the pilot bearing. Could the fork or the shaft have a problem? I did not replace the gear.

Hopefully, someone else with more knowledge will reply, but I seem to recall that a bent fork could be a possible culprit as well.

If the clashing had gone on awhile before you repaired the box, the clutch teeth on the gear and the sleeve(slider) clutch teeth were likely damaged and just changing a blocker ring set would correct the problem. 1/2 forks don't bend but can wear where they ride on the shift rail. If you can rock the fork while its on the rail, get a new fork.
