Fluid leakage and some pedal problems

Ok heres the dead, my dads car is a 2000 Camaro SS and recently its became un-drivable. Under the car (from the bottom of the tranny) he leaves a decent size puddle of hydraulic fluid and I am fairly convinced that its either the master/slave cylinder (the clutch pedal either loses all feel or most of its feel and its nigh impossible to get it into gear, its also stuck to the floor on a couple of occasions). It appears that the fluid is coming from the top of the tranny and is running down the side (passenger) and then to the floor. I've never done anything to this car (yet) and am a little apprehensive at working on it (however I have pulled and fixed/ replaced almost every part to my personal car (89 240sx) so I am fairly mechanically inclined).

I guess my question is how hard is it to pull the slave / master cylinder (quick break down of whats all involved), and do the symptoms I've described lead you to believe that this could be the problem?

    Thanks guys,
    Andrew

did I violate forum rules or something(no one responding)? or does no one know/have an opinion as to what could be the problem? (even a little confirmation of my diagnosis would be very appreciative)

The only thing that gets me is the fluid down the pass side of the tranny. If it was leaking from the master it would be down the firwall or possibly down the drivers side at the connection. If the slave is leaking usually it will just leak down which means you would see fluid coming from the bottom of the bellhousing noramally. There is a breather tube on the pass side where I have heard of people overfilling the tranny and tranny fluid comes out that. With out seeing it first hand I can't really tell you much over than tear it open and see whats going on.

Heres a link to a clutch install write up, it should cover everything you might need to know.
