    Smile Fading Clutch Pedal with new clutch

    I just put a new LS7 clutch in my car. It had 46K on the original clutch. I thought the clutch was going bad because the clutch was slipping and the pedal was really low. We found that the slave cylinder was leaking inside the bell housing and the clutch was full of oil. The flywheel and pressure plate were both burned.
    The pedal is still falling to the floor. I sat at a light with a light pressure on the pedal and it started to go to the floor. It went down to the floor and the light turned green. I suspect that the clutch master cylinder is leaking internally. I have read that GM is having some problems with these. IS that true? IS there a bulletin out on this problem?
    Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    did you bench bleed the master?

    Thumbs up I finally got a good clutch

    I had a new master cylinder put on. The first one they put on failed. The second one was the answer. I got a full pedal with no fade. For the future I would recommend changing the clutch master cylinder along with the slave cylinder. It may cost more but it sure will keep you from being bummed out when your new clutch does not work.
