Dropped Socket in Bell Housing!! Can I drive?

Was unsuccessfully bleeding my clutch hydaulics and dropped a socket in the bell housing. Is it going to jam between the flywheel and the housing? I may need to go in to replace the slave anyway, but I'd like to drive it to a shop. Tow?

That sucks. Did you try using a flexible magnet or something to try to fish it out? I don't really know...but I personally wouldn't drive it until I got it out of there.

I've got a powerful small magnet, I'll give it a shot. Something tells me it will slide up against a casting seam or some such that will stop it.

One other idea......I've never really looked at the bellhousing to see what it looks like, so I'm not sure if this would work or not. What if you got a really big, REALLY strong magnet from somewhere and moved it around on the outside of the bellhousing, and then up to the top of the bellhousing so it would drag the socket up the side of the inside of the bellhousing to where you could grab it???

Or just take the bellhousing off, that will require some work though
