Drill Mod help
Hi everyone, this is my first post on this board here. I do check out the articles from time to time.
I was hoping I could get some advice / help. I was doing the drill mod as per the install university's directions that were on here. I was using an 1/8 inch drill bit to drill the restrictor out, and rather than drilling it, the drill bit threaded itself in and twisted itself off inside the line. Needless to say I guess I made the restriction worse, I also take the blame for not being more careful.
Anyone have any advice? Trying to drill into the back of a twisted drill bit didn't work very well, and I don't want to risk getting it out if the fitting ends up un-salvageable anyway.
Any suggestions on where I can find a new one? I checked Rock Auto without much luck and called a Chevy dealer, who told me it only comes with a new master.
Thanks for the help in advance.

yeah, it only comes with the master cylinder. sorry to hear your troubles. did it actually break off in the line? damn, either cheap drill bits or you were holding it WAY off center. i really dont have a clue except buy a new one

Yah, it might have been a crummy drill bit I used. It is about 1/8" inside the line, and its stuck good.
This job should have been a no brainer, but now I'm pretty much jammed unless I can come up with something.

Thanks for the advice scotthd. I was thinking that would be my next step. I've just been so busy. My daily driver is a 98 Grand Cherokee, and that has a laundry list of stuff I need to do on that (these offset ball joints should be a blast to install).
My poor Camaro needs to hit the streets soon, summer isn't far away.

try using a slightly larger drill bit which would let the 1/8th pieces fall out. I did the drill mod on my 2002 ss and if I remember correctly, you could possibly use even a larger drill. just be very careful and use a clamping device to assist in getting the job completed.

Problem solved
Ebay, used master and hydraulic line out of 02 SS for $41.00 Score!!!
I contacted another dealership btw. FYI the hydraulic line doesn't have a part number so they can't sell it without a new master.
Dealer price= $250.00 new master with steel braided hydraulic line.
