    Difference between short shifters

im in the market for a new shifter... I was surfing around EBAY and found that there are a few different ones, does anyone know whether its worth forking out the $180 for the Pro 5.0 Billet shifter, or should i just spend ~$50 on another short shifter and put the rest into something else?? also, what would be the difference between them all? thanks for any advice!

The pro 5.0 will not let you miss the 2-3 shift. It's worth the money. This is with the LSS (lou's short stick)

i have the pro 5.0, w/short stick option. great shifter, had to grind a bit for clearance though. the linkage was hitting the shifter so it couldn't move, real easy fix though. only problem i got with it is that theres no block to keep you from hitting 2nd instead of 4th going from 3-4

There's a couple of these threads now. From what I understand either should be a major upgrade to the m6. I had my car over a year before switching and I'm sad I waited so long. It just felt so much firmer.

    Here's pic of a B&M which I went with.

Yeah, I have heard very good things about the B&M too. I actually got a B&M Hammer shifter handle, they are my favorite!

Is there a shifter with the block to keep you from hitting 2nd ? I have never done it before, but I have heard about others doing it with very bad results.

yeah i actually had a b&m ripper in my old thunderbird supercoupe, that's a great shifter too.

i've only accidentally hit 2nd once and it was the scariest thing i've done in the car lol. i "assumed" there was some kind of block on hittin 2nd so i was worrying more about hittin the perfect shift point and bam 2nd, i think the biggest problem is the trans., it only drives perfect when i muscle it around a bit, so by the time you reallize you f'd up it's too late. luckily no damage occured though. sides ruinin my pants lol
