Clutch slave line disconnect tool J 36221

What's the trick to getting that "white clip" manipulated such that the master to slave clutch line will fiannly come apart? Used the search function and can't get any threads I can read. New to this forum..I'm working on a '99 vette trying to change the M/C to the McLeod adjustable. How does that white ring work? Does it depress back inside the larger barrel half? HELP!

Got this off of the drill mod thread-should answer your questions. It's telling you to push in the white ring -it's a quick disconnect-then the line should release-go look at the pictures and you should be able to figure it out. http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...r_cylinder.htm well it's supposed to take you there-go to the "what is a drill mod" thread if you can't find it.

if the ring is pushed in all the way-then work the lines together also and then it should slide apart.sometimes pushing the lines together with the ring pushed in will do the trick,a little penetrating oil can help too.

thanks 02z28ls1! What do you mean by working the lines together?

It turns out I had to push the ring in even further so that I could barely see it before it came off. It's overcast today so taking a flashlight down there helped.

Well alot of these fuel lines that are quick disconnects like that need to be pushed together before they release so you can pull them apart. It's hard to describe but once you've done it you'll know what I mean.
