Clutch for My LT1
I have a 95 lt1 with maybe 315-325 rwhp. I put a Spec Stage 3 clutch in it about 15 months ago. This past weekend I was doing a burn out for the ls1 calender. When I got done with the burn out I couldn't get the car in gear. I am sure its the clutch. I have hated the spec 3 since I got it because you can't slip it. I have heard that the Spec 3+ is slippable and a better clutch.
Any advise on what to do would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to put a $650 clutch in it every year. Which clutch will hold?
It is driven only on the weekends and does see the track. It is mostly driven very aggresively.Last edited by zbizkit; 12-11-2006 at 07:32 AM.

Center Force Dual Friction for an LT1 is an awesome clutch! Many miles driven, very hard, with one new disc installed. Its got light pedal pressure at low RPM's and gets harder as the RPM's increase because of the centrifical weights (more clamping force) . I also got one behind a 500 horse Chevelle with 15,000 miles on it. If you dont want a new clutch then I suggest that you take a good look at what shape the existing setup is in! Alot of clutch jobs I have done, (and I have done alot), there is nothing wrong with the pressure plate, it is the disc is worn out. Pressure plates should be able to go through at least 3 discs before you need a new one.

That's the first good review I've heard on the Centerforce Dual Friction. I'm interested as well because I'm bolting a '94 T56 to my small block and will be using a retrofit flywheel to utilize the LT1-style clutch.
Anyone else have anything to add on LT1 clutch recommendations?
