That spec clutch is hit or miss from what I've read here. People complain about its poor street manners (ie chatters a lot from a stop). But they also say it grips really well when you need it too.
So the question for you is...what are your current mods, horsepower, and goals for the car?

most people go with the SPEC stage 3 or 3+, if thats the route they take.
But yes, a little of people say they chatter, but most would buy them again, its just something you get used to, but prob not the best if the car is a DD.
Probably the most common clutch upgrade is the LS7 clutch, stock driveability with more performance, and price isnt bad. kyspeed.com is a sponsor here, they have the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel for $500 shipped.
you also might as well do hydraulics while your at it. its common practice to replace your slave along with your clutch, tranny is out anyway, might as well do it, its a cheap part, and could save you the headache down the road of pulling the tranny again for a $50 part.
the LS1 Master is crap too, get something from TICK, never heard anything bad about them. heard things back and forth on McCleod.
I'm going through this process as we speak, just ordered a new slave from KYspeed. its more expensive, but comes with the alignment tool for the clutch, I'll be ordering an LS7 kit, and a Tick adjustable master soon.

Get ahold of mark at Kyspeed he will hook you up with everything you need that's where I got my speech 3+ and I love it, I never had it chatter on me an I DD my car everyday (weather permitting) plus I did the flywheel with the removable sleeve a new slave. And the tick adjustable master. All I have to say is as for now it's the best money I've spent short of buying the car it's self...... My $.02

I see that tick has a package deal with the monster that includes the slave and master...but do i really need the kit or is that just extra money down the drain. its not like I'm doing the install my self? i also see the ls7 kit witch sounds tempting especially for the price and the slave but i cant find a master???

through Tick, the SPEC kit is $1350 for everything, not sure about the Monster set up, but the LS7/Tick set-up is $924 through kyspeed
The packages through Tick are complete, and a good price compared to buying it all separate, but The LS7 clutch kit and Tick master are good set-up, for much less.

My suggestion:
LS7 clutch kit, new GM slave cylinder, and Drill Mod the GM master cylinder (or get the Tick master cylinder).

You most likely have to buy the LS7 and the tick master separately. They probably don't come together in one package deal
