    Clutch bledding question

So I am in the middle of replacing my clutch and flywheel and did the master cylinder and slave while I was at it. I was bleeding the system tonight and have fluid coming out of the bleeder on the slave when I open it with no air coming out. But there is still no resistance on the clutch pedal when I press it, just goes straight to the floor. My question is what do you guys think is wrong? And does the slave need to be in the trans when i'm doing this? I thought it would be much easier to bleed the system with the trans still out but I don't know if you have to bleed with the slave installed in the trans or something like that. Any help is appreciated. Erik

Bleeding the clutch is like bleeding your brakes, you need to have everything installed for it to work. If you try to bleed your brakes with the caliper off of the rotor, you're just going to compress the piston and have to start over. The same thing goes with the clutch hydraulics...you need them installed so the slave cylinder has the resistance of he clutch to bleed against.

Thanks, I was not sure if it needed the resistance or not. I'll give it a try when I get home tonight.
