Clutch - 2000 TA WS6 - Stock
I have a stock 2000 TA WS6 with 40K miles on it. I plan to change the clutch this winter while the car is in storage. Two things:
1. Planning on going with LS1 SLP clutch package. Any one do a replacement with that package?
2. How about doing the clutch and flywheel replacement. Any one perform that yet? Was it a "project"?
Thanks

Red- 1999 WS6 T/A
I just recently replaced my clutch master and slave cylinders, and quickly decided to swap out the clutch assy while I had the tranny out.
I replaced the flywheel because it came with the clutch assy that I had ordered. However, my 74K mile flywheel would had been resurfaced and reused if the kit did not contain the new flywheel. Inspection of my flywheel found no real issues, since I do not drive the car hard and I am the original owner. It was very convenient to remove the old flywheel and replace with a fresh one without having to wait for machine shop lead time.
The project itself is not very difficult, just more time consuming then difficult. The only special tool that is required is a 2ft extension to get to the upper tranny to bellhouising and bellhousing to motor bolts. It also helps if you have a lift and a tranny jack, which I did.
Good luck and take your time.
