    clutch

I took my car to the mechanic so that he can fix my clutch that has been getting stuck. Every time i shift I have to pull it up with my foot. Well he quoted me at $1100.00 which he said 700 was just for the part. Does that sound reasonable?

NO. from what ive read on here its just the clutch master cylinder... you can do one of two things... buy a new one... or just take your old one out and drill the hole in the line larger. Search around its farely easy you will find it.

HOLY SHIT! 1100 dollars for jus that?! What a rip off. I bought a brand new clutch and had it installed for cheaper than that. Find a different shop man

Well my friend told me about a guy that would have fixed my clutch for 850. He replaced it, but its hard to switch gears. It was a little hard to go in reverse, but now its really hard to switch gears. What could it be?

maybe bad fluids? or maybe low fluids.. Try to see if you can replace the tranny fluids. I know if i did a run mine would sometimes get like that for a few seconds because the oil got really hot...

"lazy clutch pedal"... i think some guys on here have solved this by swapping out the clutch fluid for fresh fluid... i had this problem and eventually went for new clutch, master cyl, and slave cyl.... the slave cyl. was likely the culprit (i kept the old part for a souvenier). no more problems now..

I ended up changing out the clutch, flywheel, the master cylinder and slave cylinder. the clutch works good, but the gears seem a little rough. they seem to get better the more I drive it. Is that normal?

well, as a reference, i had the exact same parts replaced about two months ago. also had the tranny fluid replaced. this is my daily driver car, and it has 155k miles. shifting gears (mainly 1, 2, or 3) feels pretty "tight", mainly when driving from a cold start. not sure if this is "normal" or not though... seems to ease up a bit after driving a few miles, ..everthing warms up to operating temp..
